From Christian Bernard Monographs

“Remember that Rosicrucian is a practical philosophy and that its value resides mostly in the well-being it provides, a well-being which should be shared with others. As you have surely noticed, we can bring happiness to others only if we ourselves are happy. By applying the Order’s teachings to your life, you will surely enhance your own happiness and, in so doing, contribute directly or indirectly to the happiness of others around you.”

Frederic Nietzsche once said that regarding any doctrine as true merely because it makes people happy is not an argument towards its veracity. Indeed, incidences of religious belief actually tend to rise within countries that are ranked lower on scales of overall life satisfaction with various studies showing that hard times and future uncertainty tend to make people more susceptible to conversion.

According to social psychologist David Myers, these low points tend to acts as catalysts for wholesale life changes and generally people’s lives tend to improve after these changes are made. Whether an individual decides to start a new exercise regimen, visit with a psychotherapist, or join a secretive society the simple act of seeking out a solution can often be enough to shake you loose of your existential depression.

For new cult members it can be easy to identify their new belief system with the growing sensation of happiness, but this is a clear example of confusing correlation with causation. The only way to be sure that a certain course of action is responsible for your happiness is by examining the actual benefits it brings to your life and comparing these against other possible alternatives.

“Since the vowel sound MEH contains the sound EH, the same effects are produced. That is, it cleanses and regenerates the liquid elements of the physical body, especially the blood and the lymph.”

In previous analyses we have touched upon the importance of purification in cult literature. Throughout recorded history there are countless examples of cults built around the idea that humans bodies slowly accumulate moral or physical toxins over time, and that these influences need to be ritually cleansed to ensure good health. From India to China, and Ancient Rome there are countless examples of medical treatments that are built around the concept of bad air or noxious vapors. Today, these same theories are peddled by vendors who proclaim that food additives or prescription medications cause buildups of toxins in the body which must periodically flushed out through detoxification kits.

Of course the actual natures of these toxins or their particular interactions with the human body are never established. In reality, our bodies are exposed to a vast array of natural and unnatural chemicals on a daily basis with no side effects whatsoever. When our body does come into contact with potentially harmful substances we have strong defense mechanisms already in place to deal with their effects. Our skin, kidneys, lymph nodes, gastrointestinal systems livers offer an extremely sophisticated detoxification system all on their own.

These internal systems are all self-sustaining and their performance cannot be enhanced through the intervention of any vowel-based chants or detoxification kits. In fact, interfering with the unique physiological processes which take place in these organs can be extremely harmful.
