Before I fancifully speculate on the Fifth Element of Improvable Dogma, let me return to the Cell as discussed in Degree 3, No. 4 of the Initiate Section. On page 7 of the Master Monograph pamphlet, we see a nice little diagram, which contains a picture of the cell from a spiritual point of view. There, the nucleus, plasma and cytoplasm, components of the cell known to science- are wed with AMORC’s concepts of the Vital Life Force, which is at the core of the cell and the Spirit, which is embedded in the Plasma at the outskirts of the Cell. It is expressed this way in the Monograph:
Although spirit energy is present in the entire cell, it is most particularly condensed in the plasma membrane, for this is the most material part of the cellular structure. Likewise, although Vital Life Force infuses the entire cell, it is most concentrated within the nucleus, as this is much less material in nature than the outer membrane.
So the diagram is only an indication of the concentration of these celestial energies, whereas the exposition explains much more. This is a real wedding of matter and spirit, a real chemical wedding.
Following this, AMORC makes a very persuasive statement about its theoretical doctrine of the cell. It states that the function of RNA and DNA, resident in the nucleus of the cell, is still a mystery. Then it states this intriguing hypothesis:
For Rosicrucians, they are only the consequence of the effects produced in the cell nucleus by the cosmic essence emanating from the Sun. This difference of understanding explains why Rosicrucian scientists are progressing more rapidly in this field of knowledge.
Ah, the fifth element- what Aristotle called the Quintessence- actual real proof. Rosicrucian scientists, not from the dim past, but from the present, actually working on the formulation of cell theory based on some kind of real understanding of how the cell functions theoretically.
As I said in AMORC UNMASKED,
When an organization expounds a law of the universe or of nature, which has yet to be discovered by modern science, a member could naturally ask- well, that sounds nice, but what was the evidence that you have found?
Should we believe it now? Scientists are working on it, after all, aren’t they?
Well, no. Not really- because we don’t know who they are, what their way of working is, what foundations they have for believing what the Rosicrucian theory purports they have, what tools they have, what procedures they follow, how they blend the advanced instruments of microscopy with the fragile nature of occult perception? Such is the mythos of the fifth foundation of dogma. Assert something based on experience- and propagate it- but do not really provide the proof that this body of experience even exits.
