In examining how I could begin to practice invisibility so matter-of-factly when I got to a high degree in AMORC, when they condemn this type of magical practice in the first place, having studied the cult personality in other groups, I am no longer surprised.  Still, any outsider would surely ask- how can one stand on such a precipice of contradiction and live with themselves?

The purpose of Mind Control is to create mental zombies that will do the bidding of the cult. The central tool is a subtle form of hypnotic conditioning during which type a kind of personality split occurs in the member, one still basically rational- and the other buying into the cult’s precepts and doctrines.

This inner dichotomy causes all kinds of mental confusion. Whereas hypnotic conditioning can create the foundations for accepting a great deal of cognitive dissonance or inner contradiction, it cannot completely obliterate the consequences for the divided personality that it has created.
