Misconceptions about cults and their members (Part 1)

Once you have identified people who, you believe, could assist in reaching out to the cult member, you may find that many of them refuse to help. While some individuals to whom you reach out may refuse because they are uncomfortable planning things behind the back of a loved one even if it for his/her own good, there are other reasons that result in refusal to help. Most of these are common misconceptions that lead people to believe that they cannot help someone leave a destructive cult while others, in fact, lead to people remaining oblivious to the situation entirely. These misconceptions and situations can be rectified with proper discussion and imparting of appropriate knowledge.
