“This very table, which we see white, and which we feel hard, is believed to exist, independent of our perception, and to be something external to our mind, which perceives it. Our presence bestows not being on it; our absence does not annihilate it. It preserves its existence uniform and entire, independent of the situation of intelligent beings”

It is interesting that this monograph puts forth an argument for objective truth, considering that cults such as AMORC are built on a denial of any fundamental reality. Indeed, brainwashing is most potent when victims are confused into disregarding the firm lines between fact and fiction.

These tactics are most evident in fascist societies, such as Nazi Germany and Mussolini’s Italy. Both of these regimes came about during eras of great national strife where poverty, inequality, and other social ills had reached a boiling point. Each party recommended sweeping reforms as an answer to these endemic problems. These solutions required conventional systems to be torn down and replaced completely. In Mussolini’s case he advocated a return to the ways of Roman Empire, while Hitler called for a new society built around those with pure Aryan blood.

When it came to advocating these ideas a few clear concepts were evident:

• Most Fascist policies are based on poorly though out ideas that lacked any real depth or scientific understanding.
• However, these messages are amplified instantly through the use of incisive propaganda that boiled party messages down to crowd pleasing slogans, chants and party songs that are easily digested by the public.
• Fascist propaganda generally glorifies party leaders as divine and infallible while fingering a specific out-group for the various ills that plagued the community.
• To prevent any nuanced criticism of these shallow ideas, the authority will usually silence or even ban outside ideologies by claiming that they are contrary to the cultural values laid forth in the party’s manifesto
• History and language are also often altered to suit the narrative the party’s narrative, and further integrate its ideas into normal society.
• The ultimate aim is to create a docile public that is completely unaware that is being brainwashed.

So then, why is AMORC arguing in favor of objective truth? Let us examine the monograph further to find out.

That is why we shall focus upon and demonstrate the laws and principles involved. You will thus find that sight and, in general, the entirety of objective perception are far from being limited to the sensory mechanisms that are the object of scientific research”

Those who are not familiar with cult techniques may not be aware of the manipulation that is being attempted here. Essentially, what this monograph is saying is that there the scientific understanding of sight is incomplete, and that contrary to all physical evidence there is actually a completely new facet to this sense that we have simply never been informed of. In other words, forget what your eyes tell you because everything they see is wrong

This is a clear example of gaslighting. AMORC is convincing its recruits that the faculties they have relied on for all their lives are inadequate. Sight, smell, hearing, and touch all of these senses are subject to misinterpretation and confusion. In fact, the only objective truth is what the monograph is about to reveal to you.

“Seen in this light, the material world is both a reality and an illusion for, although it appears in a concrete and tangible way to our objective consciousness, we cannot know, by means of our sensory faculties, what it truly is in essence”

Yet somehow, the Masters of the Rosae Crucis have managed to pierce the veil of reality and find the essence of all things. Of course, they cannot back up these findings with any sort of tests or experiments. However, they do have the accumulated wisdom of their ancient forebears to add credence to their ideas.

Witness what has happened. Fact and fiction have been blurred. History has been rewritten to ascribe to Rosicrucian teachings, and the very truth of our senses has been denied in favor of half-baked ideology. This is the cult mindset at work.
