In Master Monograph No. 3 of the Fourth Degree, Initiate Section, the Sixth Law of Nodin’s Manuscript is enunciated:

The Sun is the source from which emanates the positive polarity of Nous; the Earth is that from which is propagated its negative polarity.

On the surface, this seems rather straightforward: sun-positive; Earth- negative.

Closer examination of the text reveals something more complex. We know that, according to AMORC, that the sun generates Nous. Nous is generated directly from the Ether or Cosmic Essence itself along with Universal Soul. Monograph No. 1 in Degree 4, Nous has two components: Spirit, which gives rise to matter- and the Vital Life Force which gives rise to life.

Vital Life Force is positive. Sprit polarity is negative. The Earth, according to AMORC, is very dense in Spirit energy and “its vibrations radiate continually outward towards space. On the human scale, we may therefore consider that the negative polarity of Nous is propagated from our planet.”
