PEDAGOGUE

Continuing our look at the Initiate Section, we now turn to Degree 3, No. 9. This monograph begins with a Concurrence of long quote from Krishnamurti, who is described as a “great pedagogue.” According to the Houghton Mifflin dictionary a “pedagogue” is a schoolteacher; an educator with a secondary meaning, “one who instructs in a pedantic or dogmatic manner.”

Keeping some of our direction in mind, we note that, in our opinion, this description of Krishnamurti, does leave a bit out- since the man himself was involved in a controversy casting a shadow on the legitimacy of Theosophy, the older spiritual organization which claims that same Cosmic Hierarchy as AMORC.

AMORC’s use of source material is, again, somewhat strange and elliptical, meaning that it often draws on sources but without a complete description of their origins. In this case, the description of Krishnamurti as a “great pedagogue” somewhat approaches a sin of ecclesiastical omission. It is a nice quote, though.
