BELIEF VS “KNOWING”-PART I

AMORC pretends towards extraordinary knowledge- of healing, of past history, of the power to telepathically communicate over great distance, to heal, to control the thoughts and feelings of others. In the same manner, they also present their members with a very comprehensive belief system. I go into how these beliefs actually impact on their members in both of my books, the Prisoner of San Jose and AMORC UNMASKED.

Is there any reality to this belief system? The problem with it is that most of it can only be verified or known by a high initiate- or it exists in archives not open to the public. Yet, during my entire period with AMORC, tidbit after tidbit of super celestial knowledge leaked off the table for hungry belief consumption by its members, whether they knew or not.

For instance, in the Initiate Section, Degree 3, Monography 1, the case is made about the effect of eating animal flesh. First, it is said that the environment that animals live in is polluted and that this toxic environment can result in “mutations which cause some degree of degeneration of the protein. This fact is significant, because these proteins are what the human body primarily digests.” To AMORC, this means that these animals cannot provide the value they could to humans who consume them as in the pre-pollution days before mutations occurred.  Further, the memory of the animals’ death and suffering at the hands of humans further lessens the value of nutrition derived from these pure creatures.

I am not about to enter into a debate as to the veracity of such claims about animals. But, again, let me point out the way AMORC spoon feeds its dogma to its members. It says, “Although such a statement may appear speculative to some people, it is nevertheless totally sound, and science will one day supply the experimental proof.”

By saying it is “totally sound,” AMORC is contending the absolutist reality of its assertion about meat. But the proof is not available for its members. In this case, the doctrine does not produce vegetarianism- rather AMORC resolves this problem by simply saying that “it is important to kill animals that are to be eaten in such a way that they do not suffer. They must be sacrificed with love, and in complete awareness that their life is taken to maintain ours.”

This view is not totally original. Many American Indian tribes have traditions taking animal life, but not without an attempt to communicate to the animals their reluctance to take their life. We shall explore the implications of this belief in my next blog.
