In my last blog, I continued my discussion of the concept of immortality as developed by the Rebirthers. In their writings, the Rebirthers distinguish between “deathists” and “immortalists.” Deathists believe in the death of the physical body. Immortalists believe in life everlasting, even for the physical body. They believe that the body itself, as suggested in the exoteric Gospels and letters of Paul- but also in certain esoteric writings, can be transformed into a new, spiritual body that has the property of immortality.
In AMORC UNMASKED, I talk about AMORC’s critique of the Catholic doctrine of the Assumption of Mary. In this doctrine, Catholics say that Mary went up to heaven, taking her body with her- like Jesus did. In the book, I say-
AMORC points out that this was not possible nor a real experience of Mary, but a kind of myth painted by believers. AMORC denies the idea of ASSUMPTION, in this case very similar to the idea of ASCENSION.
I further quote AMORC in regards to this doctrine-
Assuming this were possible, where would it go to in the cosmos? How would it sustain itself in space? What would it become over a period of centuries?
Interesting question. But is the answer so obvious? I guess it depends on how you define the possibilities. And it looks like AMORC is speculating that Mary just went straight up into the sky and that “heaven” has nothing to do with Cosmic Planes.
